Despite being the go to platform for many of the public, main stream media and organisations to interact and share news and insights.  Twitter has failed to build on it's strong start.

They've finally bitten the bullet, and the future of Twitter will likely be decided by someone else.  As @ProfGalloway discusses three contenders are Salesforce, Alphabet and Disney.  I have nothing to add to why Salesforce would want to buy it, it makes zero sense to me.  Disney however not only have the content to distribute through Marvel and Star Wars, their investment into sport with ESPN and live streaming makes Twitter an attractive proposition.  Twitter already have live streaming deals for NFL games and this acquisition could put Disney at the forefront of the rise of streaming over traditional television.
